Following on from his first Volume, the author takes a more comprehensive look at Germany's various rocket projects. 
It was fascinating to learn that the Treaty of Versailles forbid  Germany to possess, even carry out research on, new weapons such as tanks, aircraft and ships, it had forgot to include rockets & missiles. As the author says, this oversight was exploited fully by the Germans.

The V-1 and V-2 rocket attacks on Britain are a well known subject, covered in many books and documentaries. But how close were these weapons to becoming a far more devastating weapon for Germany's enemies?
With new research and copies of archived documents from around the world, the author has been able to dig even deeper.

We learn of large underground bunkers in both Normandy & Italy. What was their purpose?
Friedrich reveals that there was also US Intelligence reports that the Germans had plans to launch rockets from Italy, as well as to use them in their fight on the Yugoslavian front.

As with his first volume, the author's research appears to reveal a far more disturbing picture of both Germany's plans and their potential capabilities. 
There is clearly even more evidence lying in British and American archives. Whilst we await the day it too becomes available, what Friedrich's research reveals certainly makes for fascinating reading.

ROYAL NAVY FORCE H 1940-42 This is book 14 in Osprey's 'Fleet' series and is written by naval historian, Angus Konstam. If you have read any second world war books on the Mediterranean war and/or Malta, then it is highly likely that Force H and its well respected commander, V.Adm. Sir James Somerville, is mentioned. Based at Gibraltar, Force H patrolled both the Atlantic and the Western Mediterranean often escorting vital convoys to Malta. It was Somerville who led the fleet in the attack on the French fleet at Mers-el-Kébir and they would also be later involved in the hunt for the Bismarck.  As well as describing the fleet's ships, its commander and their wartime endeavors, the role and defences of Gibraltar is also covered.
