BIGGLES NEW RELEASES.

This week sees the release of two more hardback Biggles books by Canelo. 
Once again they have done a wonderful job with the cover designs.
1) BIGGLES GOES TO WAR.
Back in London after the great war, Biggles is approached to help set up a new air force for the small European nation of Maltovia. On their arrival, Biggles and his crew soon find out that this supposedly simple job will be anything but.

2) BIGGLES FLIES EAST
Biggles meets the mysterious Captain Brunow who asks him to become a spy for the Germans!
Playing along, with Air Staff Intelligence backing, Biggles soon heads to the warmer climes of the desert in what will be his first encounter with his nemesis, Erich von Stalhein.

Fabulous books that are still a joy to read and collect all over again with these new great covers.

ROYAL NAVY FORCE H 1940-42 This is book 14 in Osprey's 'Fleet' series and is written by naval historian, Angus Konstam. If you have read any second world war books on the Mediterranean war and/or Malta, then it is highly likely that Force H and its well respected commander, V.Adm. Sir James Somerville, is mentioned. Based at Gibraltar, Force H patrolled both the Atlantic and the Western Mediterranean often escorting vital convoys to Malta. It was Somerville who led the fleet in the attack on the French fleet at Mers-el-Kébir and they would also be later involved in the hunt for the Bismarck.  As well as describing the fleet's ships, its commander and their wartime endeavors, the role and defences of Gibraltar is also covered. This is an added bonus as most books generally only give Gibraltar a passing mention.
