LOST VOICES OF THE FALKLANDS WAR

This is the second book of Max Arthur's 'Lost Voices' series to get a welcome republishing. 
The 'Battle of Britain' book is already available and the 'Dambusters Raid' book will follow soon.

As the cover says, 'their story in their words.' As the introduction states, these people wouldn't normally share their experiences, let alone speak to an author, yet they found it easy talking to Max. 

The Falklands is a harsh environment. The fact that the war took place between the months of April and June in 1982, meant that this was also the winter period in the Southern Hemisphere with sub-zero temperatures. 
Here in their own words you will read a host of stories from different armed services and ranks who served in this short, but bloody war. From Royal Marines and Paras to the nurse and the medical officers. 
From the pilot of a Sea Harrier to a Rear-Admiral. All have incredible and often moving stories to share and many would be rightly commended for bravery afterwards. 

This is another excellent book in the series and I'm delighted to see it republished to hopefully reach a new generation of readers.

The paperback edition will be published later this month on March 13th, by Canelo.

ROYAL NAVY FORCE H 1940-42 This is book 14 in Osprey's 'Fleet' series and is written by naval historian, Angus Konstam. If you have read any second world war books on the Mediterranean war and/or Malta, then it is highly likely that Force H and its well respected commander, V.Adm. Sir James Somerville, is mentioned. Based at Gibraltar, Force H patrolled both the Atlantic and the Western Mediterranean often escorting vital convoys to Malta. It was Somerville who led the fleet in the attack on the French fleet at Mers-el-Kébir and they would also be later involved in the hunt for the Bismarck.  As well as describing the fleet's ships, its commander and their wartime endeavors, the role and defences of Gibraltar is also covered.
