Author and photographer, Keith Wilson, has brought together a fabulous collection of aircraft and RAF related photographs, with each chapter covering a year from 1950 through to 1959.

The second world war may have been over, but in the 1950's the RAF would still find itself involved in overseas campaigns in both Korea and Malaya.
Away from conflict, the 1950's would see the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and record breaking flight expeditions over much longer distances. 

By now the jet and helicopter age was in full swing. Many new designs of aircraft that would become adored to this day were  shown off to huge crowds at the popular Farnborough Air Shows.
From the arrival of V-bombers to the new and exciting aerobatic teams, it was a decade that must have been a dream for any aviation fan.

With the advances of the jet engine, it would also mean saying goodbye to many aircraft that had given such incredible service through the last world war. 
I offer just a hint of what you find in this book, yet still proving what a remarkable decade the 1950's was in aviation history. 
This book is the first to cover different decades upto the present day and other books are now available or to pre-order.

This is a fabulous, high quality publication for readers to both enjoy and reminisce. 
Like me, I'm sure that readers will wish that they could have, or again, witness just some of these incredible sights and sounds.

ROYAL NAVY FORCE H 1940-42 This is book 14 in Osprey's 'Fleet' series and is written by naval historian, Angus Konstam. If you have read any second world war books on the Mediterranean war and/or Malta, then it is highly likely that Force H and its well respected commander, V.Adm. Sir James Somerville, is mentioned. Based at Gibraltar, Force H patrolled both the Atlantic and the Western Mediterranean often escorting vital convoys to Malta. It was Somerville who led the fleet in the attack on the French fleet at Mers-el-Kébir and they would also be later involved in the hunt for the Bismarck.  As well as describing the fleet's ships, its commander and their wartime endeavors, the role and defences of Gibraltar is also covered. This is an added bonus as most books generally only give Gibraltar a passing mention.
