BRITAIN'S DESERT WAR IN EGYPT & LIBYA 1940-1942

BRITAIN'S DESERT WAR IN EGYPT & LIBYA 1940-1942
By David Braddock.

This book provides a comprehensive account of a fascinating period of the North African campaign.
Beginning with 1940 and the Allies attack on the Italian forces during 'Operation Compass', we then follow the events with the arrival of Rommel and the Afrika Corps, before taking us to the end of 1942 and the battles at El Alamein.

This book was originally written in the mid 1960's as a training aid for British Army officers and yet still stands the test of time today.
With regular maps throughout, this has proven to be a very readable account with a narrative that was both enjoyable and easy to follow.
I have read many books on the North African campaign and this is certainly up there with the best of them. Highly recommended.

The book is available now and published by Pen and Sword Books. I thank P&S for this review copy.
