RAF BOYS IN THE FAR EAST

For over 80 years, both the RFC and the RAF maintained a permanent military presence in the far East. 

In his latest book, Steve Bond brings together a huge selection of first-hand accounts from serving personnel who worked in a variety of roles across those many decades.

From the first world war to the handover of Hong Kong to China in 1997, a huge array of aircraft have served through two world wars, the Cold War and other conflicts across the far Eastern world.

From the early days of the great war's fixed wing biplanes to the arrival of the jet age and rotary aircraft. The many varied missions and sorties would never have been possible without the men and women on the frontline as well as the essential ground crews and support staff behind them.

The variety of stories on offer share excitement and danger. Some would result in tragedy and sadness. Many still add a sprinkling of that all important touch of humour.

These stories are not for me to share here, but for you to hopefully enjoy as much as I have.
